It's Alive!!!!!

Friends, Romans, Fl*sters! I hope you're all nicely chilled out after the return of the Boys.  Just a few more hours and then I'll be able to watch the season opener. In case you're wondering why the wait,  I like to have our living room to myself, so I can enjoy seeing the Winchesters on a large screen, Steve says it's the best way to appreciate Dean's bow legs.  I did laugh and then kicked him in the kneecap.

The other reason for my being here to annoy you all is to say that after my holiday in Scotland I will catch up with all your posts as quickly as possible *G*. In case you're wondering the holiday was awesome, we stayed by Loch Lommand and the scenery was fantastic.  Just to make you all smile this was a coach trip, and me and Steve were the youngest on the coach! Steve made me promise not to creep you on any of the old dears and yell Boo, he said you didn't know how weak their hearts were *G*

The other, other reason for me being here is to tell you I've been brought a present by Josh my partner in crime in the office.  When i returned to work on Monday he looked at me and said, "I've brougth you a book!"  As I looked at him non plussed he went on to explain why.  He'd been listening to an Audio book called The Rivers Of London and in his words, "The moment I heard it I just knew it was your kind of book.  You know weird!"  Damn I love that kid, he then made me promise to stay away from the net until it arrived, and today i took delivery of my shiny new book, here's the blurb....

My name is Peter Grant and until January I was just probationary constable in that mighty army for justice known to all right-thinking people as the Metropolitan Police Service (and as the Filth to everybody else). My only concerns in life were how to avoid a transfer to the Case Progression Unit - we do paperwork so real coppers don't have to - and finding a way to climb into the panties of the outrageously perky WPC Leslie May. Then one night, in pursuance of a murder inquiry, I tried to take a witness statement from someone who was dead but disturbingly voluable, and that brought me to the attention of Inspector Nightingale, the last wizard in England. Now I'm a Detective Constable and a trainee wizard, the first apprentice in fifty years, and my world has become somewhat more complicated: nests of vampires in Purley, negotiating a truce between the warring god and goddess of the Thames, and digging up graves in Covent Garden ...and there's something festering at the heart of the city I love, a malicious vengeful spirit that takes ordinary Londoners and twists them into grotesque mannequins to act out its drama of violence and despair. The spirit of riot and rebellion has awakened in the city, and it's falling to me to bring order out of chaos - or die trying.

I sat and read some of this lunch time, and it's brilliant (even better it's the first part of a series).  Josh said that from what I've said about Supernatural, they are similiar to one another. so far in it's humor it does remind me of our show, and as you know that's no bad thing, I'm looking forward to reading more of this.  In fact I better, Josh's parting words to me tonight were "Read some more of the book!"

Now all i have to do is balance this with my squeeing, writing, and reading Outlander, actually the author of Outlander had some nice things to say about this book.  So does anyone know where I can get my hands on a second hand TARDIS?

Right I've got to bugger off for now, The Great British Bake Off awaits, I 'll be back after I've watched episode one later.
