Does anyone know?
Friends,Romans, Fl*sters, I'm here to ask for a little help from you all. I've recently been brought a new phone. now I can now ignore people with the latest technology!  I'm trying to get everything set up and to my absolute horror my ringtone hasn't transferred over.  Carry On My Wayward Son has been with me through two phones and ten years.  The only thing I can think of is it wasn't an MP3, does anyone know where I can find the song in that format, or if there is a way to convert it on my computer?

I'd hate to be parted from the song after all this time, and you never know I might keep my new phone with me more often......although it's sitting in the bedroom right now *facepalm*

I have the best Fl*st,  first of all thank you for the advice but even better thank you stir_of_echoes for the present *Bounce*  I'll be doing battle with my phone later.

depends on what type of phone you had before and what type of phone you have now. i also HAVE the ringtone for Carry on My Wayward Son in mp3 format if that's what's needed...

I'm not really sure why it didn't transfer. My old phone was an LG and this one is a vodafone smart phone. I've managed to transfer other pieces of music but Carry On My Wayward Son didn't.

i'm not familiar with vodafone, but if your other music files were mp3s and transferred and COMWS wasn't, that might be the problem. i could send you the ringtone i have in mp3 format if you'd like... just PM me your email.

For me, the easiest way is to find the song on youtube, copy the url code and paste it here: http://www.vidtomp3.com/ then follow the site's instructions on how to download the converted file to your computer.

Hope this works for you in the UK :)

I was just about to suggest the same thing. Best thing ever. I've got tons of music on my Ipod and have never paid Apple a dime for music. ;p

Since I don't have a cell phone, I'm definitely not qualified to help setup a ringtone, but I do have to say best ringtone choice EVER, and I hope you get it back soon!

No worries, but it is a great song and I hope I can get it sorted.

If you've got the song on your computer's hard drive you should be able to plug the phone into it and just drag and drop it into the audio folder on the phone. File type really doesn't matter unless it's a totally new (and whack) one which I honestly doubt.

I've been using 'The Quick and the Dead' theme on my phones for years and I just load them up from my desktop whenever I change phone.

If you do need to change file type there's a ton of online converters which do the job really quickly and easily.
