I have a question.
Friends, Romans, Fl*sters how are we today? I'm here to ask a you a little question, I've been mulling over a shameless piece of hurt Dean that's been bubbling away in my head. Now before I start scribbling my question is this, we all know Dean would take a bullet for Sam, Cas and Mary in a heart beat. But I was wondering if he'd take a bullet meant for Crowley? After all we know the BMOL have the colt and I'm sure at some point they'd like to take the king of hell out. Would Dean sacrifice himself to protect Crowley, there was their summer of love and of course there is the whole better the devil you know, I'm interested in what you ladies think.

No way in Hell!! (sorrynotsorry for the pun) I don't think even DemonDean would have taken a bullet for Crowley.

That said, if you can come up with a damn good and believable reason why he would, then I would love to read it. The only scenario I can think of is if Dean wants Crowley to owe him one, be in his debt (or if Sam is in danger and Dean needs Crowley alive to save Sam) but even then it would be a hard sell.

I actually think he would take a bullet for Crowley but not intentionally. Like an automatic knee jerk reaction which results in him saving the Demon's life instead of someone else's. An accident as it were. The gun fires, Crowley's the target, Dean's reaction is instinctual.

That sounds like something that Dean would do, an instinctual reaction to someone being in danger.

I look forward to seeing if you use it :)

That's fair enough, it's why I asked for peoples opinion about my idea. It was just something that was floating around my head, I'll give it a bit more thought to see if I can come up with a good scenario.

The only way I think that Dean would do this is if there were extenuating circumstances. Perhaps, if Crowley were in possession of some knowledge/item that could save Sam, if he were in peril.

We know Dean literally sold his soul to save Sam, so I don't think it unreasonable to think that given the right incentive Dean wouldn't take a bullet for Crowley if he thought it would save his brother.

I think he actually might. Dean's very pragmatic, and I think he realises that, as much of a worm as Crowley is, he's useful to have around. He's a useful conduit to Hell, and all the resouces and opportunities that offers.

I think the stakes would have to be extremely high, but yes, I could see him doing it.

Also, as others have said, if the circumstances were right, eg: to save Sam,then yes - I think he would.

That is a very interesting idea. There is awhole lots of better the devil you know in there. What with Crowley kinda having a soft spot for the Winchesters as we have seen over and over again. But there is also the fact that Sam and Dean may or may not be "supernatural" them selves now and even a non fatal shot from the colt might actually kill Dean Sam, Mary, or Cass. I can't say how I actually feel about it. I am going to have to do some serious thinking on this now that the thought is out there. Huummmmm.....

I guess it depends on the reason why they're shooting Crowley; if he had done nothing wrong; since they have a sorta truce with him at the moment.
so yeah.. dean would jump in front of a bullet for crowley at the time being.

Hmmm.... interesting thought.... As a bullet would likely not really hurt Crowley (unless it was from The Colt, or had a devil's trap on it), I doubt that Dean would intentionally take a bullet for him. More likely it would be by accident or if he/they needed Crowley to help them with something. But that's just my humble opinion :)
