It's only taken me 10 years!
Friends, Romans, Fl*sters as I was going through my Fl*st today a sudden thought struck me, I really should’ve been using my journal more. You see I’ve always thought I lead a pretty boring life, all I do is go to work come home and watch T.V.  Then when I get the chance I get on the net, and indulge my passion for Fandom, as I said boring!

Then I realized that I write should write this journal for myself, this isn’t Twitter or Tumblr it’s not about followers. This is all about this being my happy place, and if I want to babble on about how good Doctor Who was, then I should just go ahead and do it. So, after ten years of being here I think I might have finally got the hang of this journal lark.

With that earth-shattering epiphany in mind, I thought I’d bore you with another attempted hobby of mine. Before I discovered the joys of Fandom and Fan Fic writing, there was of course reading and a little something else. I used to cross stitch and recently I found a couple of pieces that are gathering dust in a bag in my bedroom.

One day hopefully this will be a gorgeous wolf.

And this one I’ve been working on even longer, who knows perhaps I’ll finish this family of tigers.

What I’d really like is to find a way to turn pictures into Cross Stitch patterns, I can’t draw for toffee but I’d love to be able to stitch a nice picture of our boys. Ok by the time I’m done they’d be old and grey, but it would be lovely if I could manage it.

To finish this ramble, I’m just going to warn you that hopefully I will try and make more journal entries, so be prepared to be bored to tears.

I believe that there are a few programs that allow you to scan in or import in a pic and turn it into a cross stitch pattern. How may want to google it... BTW Very nice! I have a few that I need to finish..

Thanks for the tip, it's always good to find new things. I think it's time to do a little stitching, and see if I can finish one of these.

You can do that, the pictures into cross stitch patterns. As Hermine already gave you the links I shall not bore you with google-fu but I bet you could make some awesome stuff :) Love the family of tigers it'd be lovely to see them finished but hun, there's no rush when it comes to projects that are creative. It takes the time it takes :)

Feel free to bore me with any links to pattern making programs, I'm all for any help I can get *G*. I keep looking at the Tigers and maybe it's time to do a little stitching again.

Thanks for these, I like the look of the second link as you can get the results in kit form.

It's taken me some time to realize that this kind of post is what LJ is all about, it's nice to share these kind of things with other people.

Love cross stitching! I started an advent calendar while I was in the hospital during my pregnancy, but it's unfortunately gathering dust. Hope I can get back to it too. Isn't there an ap somewhere for creating patterns? Maybe you could just lower the resolution on the picture you are using, blow it up so it shows up in squares...?

Cross stitching is a great way to relax and there are so many patterns out there. I'm sure there is an app out there, I'll find it one day.
