Fangirling ahead!!!!
Friends, Romans, Fl*sters, I bring greetingsfrom not sosunny Weymouth! We're having a couple of dull days but I'm determined not to let that get me down. Before I get on to the squeeing I will admit to doing something a little daft, on Sunday I rang the boss (she's a friend) to see how life and work were treating her. At the moment she is dealing with the P60's, and the man she is working with would try the patience of a saint. Not only that there have been problems with the wages, it seems that several pay rolls went a little wonky and joy of joys mine was one of them. She finished our conversation with a slightly tart, "I'll talk to you about it when your back at work, go and have a nice time." Gee thanks boss way to make me feel relaxed.

But enough of me babbling about work woes, now onto the squeeing! Me and Steve get a couple of days every holiday to wander round on our own, and thanks to the gods of geekery we had the chance to visit the cinema and catch up with a couple of films.

First of all we got to see Wonder Woman, oh my god what a film! I have waited a long time to see a female Superhero portrayed like this, and damn it was worth the wait. Gal was superb, and the rest of the Amazons made me want to take up exercise (for all of thirty seconds). The women were strong, powerful and compassionate and I loved the innocence of Diana when she faced the world of men for the first time. I might never get over the power of the scene in No Mans Land, although watching the Amazons take the invading german forces apart came a close second. We came out of the cinema and I said "Roll on the DVD."

The second film we watched was one Steve wanted to see, and I rather enjoyed that one as well. Despite what the critics have said The Mummy is not too bad, it's fun filled and action packed and I think it's a great opening to a possible Dark Universe, and it's filled with Easter Eggs for other Universal horror movies. I liked the character of Nick despited being the usual bad boy with a heart of gold vibe, he reminded me of another character we know and love.  I've got my fingers crossed that someone does a J2 version of the film with Jensen as Nick, and I would love to see a talented writer carrying the mythology on.

Well that's enough flailing for tonight, I'll go and leave you all in peace.

Yay for getting to watch some movies! I don't know if Wonder Woman will ever make it over here. Hope to see it on DVD or stream somehow though.

I love going to the cinema so this was a great way to spend a couple of afternoons. I do hope you get to see Wonder Woman on the big screen because it's such a stunning film.
